A Closer Look At: ADH-Fishing Scissors & Hackle Pliers

I had the opportunity to test the new scissors and the hackle pliers from ADH-Fishing. These are real workhorses for your everyday cutting from small nymphs and dries up to tying with hair and fur or synthetics for bigger streamers.

There are four different scissors: Adjustable Razor Scissors, Ergo All Purpose Scissors, Ergo Arrow Point Scissors and Ergo Hair Scissors

When you first see them, you might think „they look quite similar to the scissors from the famous company …“. Yes, you are right, they look quite similar, because they are made in the same factory from the same stainless steel.

Same with the hackle pliers with the serrated tips. Works very nice. Strong and holds material and hackles firmly.

So you might ask yourself „Why should I buy these instead the ones from the famous company?“ That’s a good question and there is a simple answer: the ADH-Fishing tools are the same quality, but they are cheaper! A better price-quality ratio.

If your need some new scissors or hackle pliers for your tying season, you should definitely take a closer look at the ADH-Fihing tools. Best bang for the buck.

Waterworks Lamson Litespeed 3 Micra 5

Got the opportunity to buy this Waterworks Lamson Litespeed 3 Micra 5 reel for a reasonable price. So I couldn’t resist. ;-)

Like in the past, I took some pictures of the reel just for fun and as a source of pictures, which are not taken by the manufacturer. Couldn’t say how it will perform, but the first impression is very good. Good brake, nice sound, well machined and with 140,25 gram super light.

I want to use it for sea trout fishing and for my streamer fishing at home with 6 and 7 weights. Hopefully, I will hear the brake „scream“ this season.

150 m of 58lbs J-Braid as backing should be more than enough.

Magic Shrimp #6

This is the last Magic Shrimp for a while, because I have to order new material for the legs.

This shrimp is very translucent und I think it will work very good on cloudy days with clear water, when the body gives a nice „bling bling“ in the water.

Good things are often very simple. Like these small nymphs tied on a short shank hook. The body length without the bead is 5mm. Even this are small nymphs, the hook gap is pretty big, so the hooking quality is still good. You can fish the nymphs very deep and you don’t have to be afraid of loosing them, because if you do so, you can tie some new ones in a short time.
